Privacy Policy
The short version
Krux collects nothing. No data leaves your device. Your files stay in iCloud Drive under your Apple ID. We do not track you, profile you, or sell anything about you.
What Krux (the App) Collects
Nothing.
Krux does not collect, transmit, or store any user data. Specifically:
- No analytics. There is no analytics SDK in the app. No usage data is measured or reported.
- No crash reporting. There is no crash reporting framework. If the app crashes, no data is sent anywhere.
- No network calls. Krux makes zero network requests to third-party servers. The app does not phone home.
- No account system. There is no login, no registration, no user profile. You open the app and write.
- No advertising. There are no ads, no ad networks, no ad identifiers.
This is confirmed by Apple's required PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy declaration included in the app bundle. Apple reviews this declaration during App Review. Krux declares: no data collected, no data tracked.
What Krux Stores on Your Device
Krux uses UserDefaults — Apple's standard local storage mechanism — to remember your preferences:
- Font size
- Appearance mode (light, dark, or system)
- Focus mode preference (on or off)
These preferences never leave your device. They are not synced, not backed up to any server, and not accessible to any other app.
Your Files
All documents you create in Krux are standard .md (markdown) files stored in one of two locations:
- On-device storage — files in the app's local sandbox.
- iCloud Drive — files synced through Apple's iCloud service under your personal Apple ID.
Krux does not operate its own sync service. iCloud Drive sync is managed entirely by Apple under Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud account, your files, or your Apple ID.
You can view, move, copy, and delete your files at any time using the Files app on iPhone and iPad, or Finder on Mac.
What This Website Collects
Nothing. This website (krux-md.com) does not use analytics, cookies, or tracking of any kind. No visitor data is collected.

Krux the app has zero third-party service integrations. The services listed above relate only to the App Store distribution and the website.
Children's Privacy
Krux is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no data at all, no special provisions are necessary under COPPA.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Since Krux collects no data, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
